Bundesliga - Bayern lose Thiago Alcantara to injury yet again
Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara has sustained a serious new injury, just as it seemed he was ready to return to action.
The former Barcelona star, who has not played for Bayern since March, will be out for several months yet again after suffering a partial tear of his medial collateral knee ligament during training with the German champions.
The 23-year-old Spain international will undergo surgery once more on his knee - a blow to both player and club that Bayern described as 'devastating'.
Thiago's career at Bayern has been hit by injury ever since he arrived in Bavaria in the summer of 2013 - last season alone he spent almost five months on the sidelines with three separate injuries.
